Grand Portrait de Ville
USD 70This new collection, "Grand Portrait de Ville", echoes the "Portraits de Villes" collection that we created 15 years ago.
In a new format (coffee table book, 22 x 28 cm, bound cover), we wanted to imagine a different relationship between the city and the artist. The artist doesn't set out to discover a city, because this time it is by no means unknown to him or her. It is a city in fact a city which they have surveyed for a long time, tamed, sometimes by birth or by heart, one which they have a particular link to.
The work is a poetic collection, very personal. The first opus is from Vincent Delerm who delivers to us at the same time very personal images of his Parisian daily life that he has been photographing every day for so many years. He also gives us the text of a song that he dedicates to this book and to this city, which punctuates and gives rhythm to the book through his writings gathered like a personal notebook.
New York, Reynald Philippe
Reynald Philippe, creative director and associate of studio Saint-Lazare, has lived and worked in New York since 2009. Photography is a medium that has always accompanied Reynald Philippe in his artistic work. For over ten years, he has been capturing the city that nourishes his graphic system.
"There's something timeless about Reynald's images; by blurring time, they capture the essence of the city. This book is a vibrant tribute to New York, reawakening the deep affection I've had for this city since I first met it." DB Burkeman
